Sorry. Almost everybody on the Web sees a UFO. I just see a bird flying through the frame. A lot of trees on the Mall are roosts for flocks of sparrows. They are pretty fast-moving in the air. I think this is one, closer to the camera than it seems. And, yes, they do fly singly as well as in flocks.

I can also attest that there were many birds flying around the National Mall that day. Mostly pidgins and seagulls. A flock of them did a lovely pirouette around the capital dome just before Obama was sworn in.

While I don't disagree that there is a strong chance it is a bird, I will note that the second footage is shot from a moving vehicle, possibly through glass. Could it not then be the brief flash of sunlight glinting off of a passing car being reflected on that glass?

I can't comment on the first video since it appears to have been pulled from YouTube. However, I will defer to the common sense of the others who got the chance to witness it.

The Colorado UFO, in a better video, seems authentic to me, but your observation is interesting and should be explored further.
