Woomera and Cumberland "spaceman" update

Keith Basterfield left a comment at our previous post about the Templeton/Solway Firth "spaceman" photos and incident(s).

In that comment Mr. Basterfield included a link to his blog, where his research of he Woomera/Blue Streak incident is covered:

Click here to see his findings

And here is a video of the Pathe News clip which provides film of the Woomera/Blue Streak launch of 1964 that allegedly included a sighting of two "spacemen" similar to that captured by Mr. Templeton at Solway Firth in 1964:

BLUE STREAK - TWO, ONE, ZERO!

Mr. Basterfield is to be commended for his rather thorough research into the continuing Solway Firth mystery.

  • From the linked article: "There, on the left hand side of the rocket is a classic internal lens reflection."

You'll recall I posted to the internal reflection on the left hand side of Templeton's Spaceman image and the other I cropped out of a video.

  • Greetings,

Very interresting article made by Keith Basterfield.

When the history appears in Ufology melting Cumberland and Woomera? I mean when it FIRST have appeared that Templeton was contacted with the editor of the Cumberland newspaper and Templeton was told the same spacemen have been show at Woomera and a launch canceled?

Near 1996 or before (for example already in 1964?).

    Best Regards,

  • Don (and Keith):

The typical lens reflection (which has shown up as "pictures" of UFOs for years) is interesting but doesn't portray anything like the spaceman that Templeton captured or the two "beings" seen at Woomera during the 1964 launch.

I've asked David Clarke about this, and he suggested I get in touch with Andy Roberts, who is an "expert" on the Templeton photos and incident.

I sent Andy a query (at Facebook) but have yet to hear back from him.

(You know how those Brits procrastinate.)

I'll note here, when (and if) Andy fills us in one his Templeton expose.

  • As I have said on Keith Basterfield's site, it was the supposed 'connection' between the site of Templeton's photo and the Spadeadam rocket (Blue Streak) test site some 25 miles away that provided a sort of link to the rocket launch in Woomera.

It sounds to me that this is an entirely artificial connection.

Those familiar with Carl Jung's concept of Synchronicity would hesitate to dismiss the Woomera and Solway Firth connection.

  • Dunno Richie, but if I'm asking such "when?" in my previous reply, it is because,as Christopher, I suspect, or at least proposing an hypothesis, of a sort of "embelishment", as it is so frequent in ufology.

If, a period given, there have been infos about "UFO" pictured in Woomera, which is "another" Blue Streack" site like Spadeadam is, they have been linked (by whom?) and the tale have been embelished.

That's just an hypothesis of course taking into account I ignore the whole story and precise chronology before 1996.

It is why I "wanted" to know when and where that connection appeared FIRST in ufology, testimonies, sources, interviews, etc.

    Already in 1964?
Or 30 decades after when Jenny Randles investigated and re-interviewed Templeton?

I hope we will have more details on this chronology!

I actually agree with you totally.

That's why I approached Clarke about the story -- he was mentioned as the "debunker" in the BBC/Randles clip.

But he said Roberts knew more about the story than he did, so I have broached the matter with Andy.

(I'll nudge Andy again, to see if I can get anything about the chronology of the Woomera spaceman visualizations.)

  • RR:

I guess there was no synchronicity re internal reflections (I don't know the Jungian rules on this).

If Andy Roberts is the expert on the Templeton photos, ask him about the negatives...plural, and whether fresh scans are available.

Can't help needing to confirm the photos before hopping off to Woomera. I'm flawed.

  • Don:

The synchronicity is that two events took place, ostensibly, in May 1964 that have some connective tissue: The Blue Streak missile sites.

(I'm even going further by tying in the Socorro event of April 1964 wherein Lonnie Zamora said he saw two white coveralled people next to his UFO -- similar to the alleged Woomera sighting of two beings one month later.)

I have another plea in to Andy Roberts, via our mutual "friendship" connection at Facebook; the second request actually.

I suspect he'll let me know if he wants to revisit a UFO event that he and Clarke have moved on from.
