A Modern “Metaphor” for Roswell

Read this story (Click HERE).

If the government would go to the lengths as outlined in this news report, in 2011, over a piece of Moon dust, it is easy to believe that, in 1947, after WWII, with The Cold War in its fetal stage, the government would apply similar pressures (or more stringent pressures) during the Roswell incident which, purportedly, involved an extraterrestrial flying disk crash, with bodies.

Some of the witness tales, about being warned to keep their mouths shut, along with the accumulation by the military of alleged debris and other elements related to the supposed crash, do not seem so farfetched when one compares what happened to the 74 year-old grandmother in the story (above) with what some Roswell witnesses said happened to them in 1947.

Maybe Roswellian skeptics would do well to re-examine their doubts in light of this present-day imbroglio.

  • Yeah, I saw that. Also see the Edgar Mitchell camera fiasco. It's ridiculous.

If you want to see a good blueprint for the Roswell coverup that did unquestionably happen see the Exercise Tiger catastrophe. On April 28, 1944, more US servicemen were killed, 749 in total, in this Nazi attack on a pre-Normandy training exercise just off Slapton Sands in the English Channel than had been killed on any single day during the war since Pearl Harbor. There were three times as many men killed there than were killed on Utah Beach during D-Day itself yet most people don't know about it. There's a reason for that.

  • Frank,

That the U.S. government has acted so barbarously in the past, and still, confirms, for me, that there is a possibility that the military acted hysterically during the Roswell episode, and those witness stories are not as embellished as some would have it.

Your examples footnote my posting here.

    Thanks,

  • Frankly, the only parallel to Roswell is the behavior by the authorities. But that in no way validates a UFO crash at Roswell. The response very likely would have been the same for a military accident involving a top secret project (maybe not Mogul, but something else that's still not been declassfied). Witnesses would be intimidated into silence.

From what I've read about NASA's debriefing and quarantine procedures during the moon missions, anybody in the vicinity of the astronauts could have picked up the moon speck from the floor.

I think this is more about an agency who's best days are behind it, that's likely to be budgeted out of existence in the next few years, being embarrassed by a lost artifact for sale. They had to turn the lady into a dangerous black market criminal to cover their own careless tushies.

  • PG:

My point was that Roswell witnesses tied their harassment to their stories of a flying disk crash, with bodies (sometimes).

They didn't tie their being roughed up to a military accident.

Although I think that was what occurred near Roswell.

  • Exercise Tiger is covered in "Cross Channel Attack" a volume of the official history of the US Army in WWII. It is discussed on pages 269-70, It is also in the offical Corps of engineers War Against Germany volume published in 1985, page 308-314; and in the official army History of logistical operations in WWII, vol 1. Eisenhower's aid Captain Harry Butcher's memoir "My 3 Years with Eisenhower" published in 46 also mentions the casualties. this is a case of an incident being called a coverup when, in reality, most folks never heard about it.

  • "this is a case of an incident being called a coverup when, in reality, most folks never heard about it."

Because it was covered up, admittedly by necessity at first. Afterwards, there really isn't much excuse for such a colossal catastrophe getting the white wash. You mention Cross Channel Attack . . . a one paragraph mention of Exercise Tiger out of 500 pages!
