UFO Conjecture(s)

Everyone is being watched, not just UFO people.

This tells those of you alarmed by the Navy and other government agencies seemingly perusing UFO internet sites, as noted in Anthony Bragalia's piece here the other day that it's not just UFO copy that is being scrutinized but everything, no matter how banal or insipid.

  • I find the quality papers in the UK always have better coverage:

  • As in the case of federal agencies casting a wide net of monitoring and \or direct interception, it is only benign if there is no civil unrest. During the Vietnam War, the FBI went so far as to visit local high schools as documented back in the day by the Chicago Tribune.
I suppose the crux of all this is the illiterate and uniformed electorate. I corresponded with an elderly German fellow who lived through the years of the Reich who narrated how patriotism was insidiously manipulated, and this was pretty much the case during the Vietnam years. Love it or leave it. During the Iraq invasion the Charlotte Observer published a letter of mine drawing parallels between Iraq and Vietnam and the senseless waste of soldiers lives. I had enough hate mail to fill a small truck. The point of this being all of this is fine and dandy until some significant unrest occurs, meaning civil warfare. Hopefully, it will never happen but as they say, never say never.

  • Duh. The Navy or any other agencies following public domain sites disturbs me not in the least. After all, that's what public domain means.

As for NSA "snooping", very few spoke out vociferously against The Patriot Act and it became the law of the land. We wanted our elected representatives to pass it, and pass it they did. The ultimate responsibility for that lays on our collective shoulders.

  • I'm totally unsurprised at this. We allowed the wolves guarding the hen house access - to fight those nasty terrorists don't you know? Is it any wonder they would nip in and steal eggs every now and then?
