A Substantive Podcast (to remove the taste of the Paracast show from your palate)

Two bona fide UFO "experts" -- Paul Kimball and Micah Hanks -- recently indulged in a back-and-forth podcast, which Paul was kind enough to send this way.

Click HERE for a conversation, about UFOs and other things that truly edifies.

  • Sorry, but listening to Hanks always gives me a headache. He has called himself "The Mouth of the South", and that's no lie. Kudos to him for being so self aware in that regard. That machine gun barrage of words comes at us so fast and furious it seems to make sense, when it often doesn't and is self-contradictory.

I'm trying to listen to the podcast, and a minor throbbing in my temples is beginning. I don't disagree with many of the opinions Hanks expresses, just that he seems unable to express them either simply or concisely, and he back peddles from all of them.

He's always fundamentally far too right wing for me and that underpins all of his commentary.

If I make it to the end of this podcast it will be a minor miracle, and that is absolutely no negative reflection on Paul Kimball.

  • I like Micah, and think he puts forward a lot of interesting ideas - none of which are original, but what really is these days? But I think his focus on the individual clouds his thinking about where all of the technological progress he talks about is going to eventually lead, if taken to its logical conclusion... A difference of opinion between us that comes out towards the end.

  • The Bowie nugget was enough to make my listen worthwhile, Paul.

You take a "Renaissance" view of UFOs (and everything else too I think).

    No one else does that.

Most of us are locked into our favorite UFO nuggets.

  • Alas, I'm in the wrong musical era then. UFOs are really more of a Baroque sort of thing.

  • The Renaissance is a state of mind; the Baroque an afterthought.

  • Exactly. ;-)
