I just cancelled my Xmas gifts to all of you...

  • Wow! This is about as pure "doom pornography" as you can get: One of our most brilliant cosmologists has just calculated that absolute, remorseless annihilation may be zooming toward you at the speed of light. If it is, there will be no way to see it coming and no way to avoid it.

One wonders what one is supposed to do with this information? Huddle in the corner in a fetal position, consumed by existential dread, I suppose.

On the other hand I think you might have the right idea, Rich. For my part, I will henceforth skip the Brussels sprouts and go directly to the chocolate cake.

Also, I won't buy green bananas any more.

  • Ah yes, the India Times, the source of many a goofy science related news item that has been hyped beyond credibility. Its as if Nature magazine and Dell Comics merged.During my tenure with The Anomalist, they could always be counted on as a news feed for bizarre twists..btw..no one knows how the universe "works" although it brings new meaning to having a heavy meal during the holidays.

  • The item appeared elsewhere also, Bruce, you cynical bastard.(I kid)

  • Did you ear the real story about...
the axial rotation of the Earth in terms of the elliptical tilt is moving as the poles (axis moves from it's present center?
New deserts, new tropical climates, new weather patterns..Two days ago, it was snowing in Cairo.
We might have to go to Vietnam for a white Christmas in the future. L
The really frightening new development are those Duck Dynasty Chia heads..who buys these? Its enough to make me cynical.
