The Socorro Insignia

Our colleague Spanish UFO researcher Jose Antonio Caravaca asks, Was this the symbol Lonnie Zamora saw and drew (to the best of his ability) that allegedly appeared on the egg-shaped craft that landed and took off in Socorro in April 1964?
The image is (Senor Caravaca informs) “This emblem, placed in the center of a Triangle and Circle – both emblems of Deity – constitutes the jewel of the Royal Arch as practiced in England, where it is so highly esteemed as to be called the “emblem of all emblems,” and “the grand emblem of Royal Arch Masonry.”

  • I just finished attempting to find a thor-delta mission patch going back to the early 1960s...no luck as of now.

The significance would be the triangle, ie, delta symbol. The "delta" symbol is prevalent on the current launch vehicles.

Douglas Aircraft Co. was the prime contractor for the original launch platform...thor, followed by the original Delta launch vehicle.

The Air Force had responsibilities for launching the earlier Delta's out of Vandenberg AFB. Perhaps this units patch would have been a triangle inside of a circle (shield).

Despite the above, I've no information on how this would tie into Socorro.

  • Even when the symbol's architecture is without question, some answers are lost in attempts to translate them.
    A good example here..

  • Rich, another area that I looked into was the possibility that the symbol could have been a "radiation hazard" trefoil-type symbol. Generally, this tends to be a circle, but there are triangle shaped symbols as well.

Have you looked into this area in the past?

  • That's very interesting, Tim.

I found similar symbols from computer tech which Hughes' employees were fooling with, way back then.

But your radiation hazard symbol intrigues.

It would be a hoot if hoaxers used it, but more troubling if a prototype had such an insignia.
