More AF Insigniae (like the Socorro symbol) from Jose Caravaca

  • I am a little puzzled by your trying to identify the symbol on the craft Zamora witnessed: if it were an experimental craft, say, what was it doing being deployed near a shed in Soccorro?! Or does one then weave even more of a tale, supposing the experimental craft had trouble, "crash landed", underwent repairs, then took off?...

  • In reading all the permutations of this account, as well as others of a similar nature ( ordinary people confronted with an extraordinary event ) I cannot help but think ( as I am sure Zamora did in the ensuing years) what would or could I have done differently at the time to have a better or closer look at what I saw? I suspect he wished ( like many others ) that it never happened. If given a second chance, I also suspect, he would have drove on…... and not given the event an opportunity to infiltrate his life. What did he receive in return? Nothing.
If this experience were a checking account, the balance would be in the red.
What have we received as in the case of Zamora? Nothing.
Would this case ( if solved ) explain all the other such cases?
    No.
Would it delete one case from an endless list of similar cases? Yes, but then like that metaphor of a checking account, we would still be in the red.
I think in the end, perhaps its a signet of what John Lilly wrote long ago on the subject of belief which is the slippery slope in all this, proven time and time again to be pertinent, whether you believe in Roswell or believe there is nothing to any of this subject at all. It’s a connection that remains firm between the skeptic….whatever belief one surmises out of this and is called into question.

“In the province of the mind, what one believes to be true is true or becomes true, within certain limits to be found experientially and experimentally. These limits are further beliefs to be transcended. In the mind, there are no limits... In the province of connected minds, what the network believes to be true, either is true or becomes true within certain limits to be found experientially and experimentally. These limits are further beliefs to be transcended. In the network's mind there are no limits.”

  • The point fellows, as Jose and I see it, is to eliminate (as Sherlock Holmes might) a minor mystery in life and a major mystery in ufology.

    That's all.

If the mystery doesn't pique your curiosity, then so be it, but for those of us intrigued by the thing, let us pursue it as best we can.

It's our albatross, not yours, as Coleridge would understand.

  • Hey Rich, nice finds by Jose. I commented else where about the Systems Command logo.

I'm aware that you are ruling out symbols. The only problem that I have with an actual AF insignia is that Zamora would have probably noted the AF shield surrounding the symbol.

And if there were an AF command shield on the craft, then there would have been the obligatory lettering "U.S. Air Force" also stamped on the craft.

I think the corporate logo is still the best choice at this point in time.

  • While I am not going to hold my breath, on page five..of their official history( a PDF) it goes into the folding into NASA of various government projects and agencies that might be worth a search. Their problem at the time was there was no time to “start from scratch”

  • Also..if what was seen was a prototype this history might provide some insight..

  • Real researchers, Bruce, will find, via a Google search, my postings about the Lunar lander prototypes employed by Hughes Aircraft/Toolco and CIA operation Raven Industries, and tested in NM (around Socorro) in the 1964 time-frame.
