Remember those structures and faces seen on Mars? Would you expect some bright guy to spot Walt Disney's dog buried in the Pluto pics? Just think of the implications!

Yeah! What did Walt know and when did he know it?!

I find it just humbling. Now we have observed the last of the major bodies of our solar system using our essentially linear propulsion methods that took 9 years of travel. Reaching Ceres took 8 years total. Beyond Mars, rocks and gas giants are our great findings save Ceres at -100 Fahrenheit and icy Europa whose surface temperature is -260 Fahrenheit. So where does that leave us if we pause for moment in our loneliness? Alpha Centauri at 4+ light years is unreachable by our current physics. Wormholes? Perhaps that's still a bit out there. If SETI makes contact it may be a religious event but any "conversation" takes 8 years+ between mail deliveries. We're left here in our banana belt with the Mars rover's are still the best exploration bet on that desert rock. And for all the talk of going there there are the human travel time issues and radiation issues to populate what, a mass extinction bomb shelter in an inconvenient place just as likely, or more so for meteoric disaster? So here we wait amid Hawking's reservations for first contact and/or technological breakthrough. In akin to the spiritual sense of hope, we look forward in our conjuncture of the unfathomable. I'll back up, avoiding despair today that there are those bright spots on Ceres to investigate. I read with some amusement of Dawn's auto shutdown fueling another conspiracy chatter. Happy to read that it is up and running again.
