What are those "dark spots" on Pluto (the dwarf planet, not the dog)

  • I’m looking forward to the July 14th fly –by. I thought of this with the earlier posting of the information singularity and robotic visitors/probes. We now we have our robots on Mars (driving around on the rock), and probes looking at Ceres with its bright spots, Pluto with its bright spot, Charon with its dark spot, and comet 67P with sink holes.

All but the rovers are too far away for any close analysis so we project from the available science packages aboard each devise. The projects are fun, but only really useful at some time significantly into the future. In the mean time it makes for expensive entertainment. There are insufficient space exploration budgets for aggressive exploration.

Mysteries abound and not a sign of life -so far, or at least in what THEY are telling us (poke at conspiracy folk). I keep going back to thinking about SETI.
