What nonsense. But it will only get worse as the tech and "science" writers get younger (and dumber, apparently) and the old-time UFO buffs get older and die off. This is a sad example of the fact that "knowledge drops out" and a newer, less accurate historical paradigm becomes common belief. And that's why its important to keep this blog alive.

So is anyone taking the time to read this 3 paragraph mini-article? It attempts to encapsulate the current state of affairs regarding mundane drones vs. that of the old-time UFO. There is truth to this though it would have been nice for the author to expound more fully on this technical revolution's impact on UFO sightings.And...there is a kernel of truth about the impact of the Cold War on UFO sightings. To what degree? I believe that its up each to make up his/her own mind. Obviously, as a participant in the Cold War, I have a view point that supports more of a psychological and operational directed causation where the UFO is dangled more as a deflection away from operational situations.

Tim:So is anyone taking the time to read this 3 paragraph mini-article?Yes, I read it Tim. Those three ideas are suitable for two guys drinking a bear in a street bar at the evening. No previous knowledge of UFOs are required, of course. Regarding the article by Chopra and Lineweaver posted by Rich, one should read it more carefully, but as usual, they are basically ignoring any evidence that might even softly suggest that aliens are already here.
