  • Asimov is definitely my favorite science fiction writer, and I have read many books from him, both science fiction and science divulgation.

Stanton Friedman once responded to Asimov's anti-ufological stance. Asimov had written a very wrong, supposedly scientific piece, called "The Rocketing Dutchman".

Friedman criticized Asimov in a 1977 paper for MUFON, called "Science Fiction, Science and UFOs". Friedman sent a copy of the paper to Asimov, but Asimov replied he wouldn't respond. In my view, Friedman effectively lambasted Asimov.

  • I have many Asimov books and copies of the Sci-Fi magazine with his name on it.

He took the usual view, of his time, about UFOs.

Friedman is no dope but like, David Rudiak and other ET proponents, is a radicalized ET believer, without considering, very deeply, other possibilities for the UFO phenomenon.

The alien UFO scenario has become a media, ufological, public meme, as you know Don.
