No Skeptical Rebuttal?

A 1970 observation of a UFO with occupants, by a nurse at a hospital in British Columbia, Canada, is fascinating in its simplicity and reportage.

Here are several links to sites about the sighting. (There are many more.):

Looking for a skeptical response or retort, I found none,

  • No rebuttal, but a thought:

The nurse enters a room at 5 AM, turns on a light, opens the draps (not the window), and sees a bright light, specificially, a sphere lit from within. This makes me think of purported UFO photographs that were clearly an interior light reflecting on the inside of a window pane. I would feel different if the witnesses had opened the window and looked through the opening, or had gone outside to observe the alleged object.

  • If the nurse is sane, and I think she is, Terry, her observation of a light reflection that she takes as a craft with a control panel and occupant is really a stretch.

You've provided a skeptical stance that is more bizarre than the sighting as the nurse portrayed it.

    You see that ,yes?

  • Nope. Please see the photo here:

  • So the nurse, Terry, interpolated the control panel and occupant?

And then watched the reflected light recede in the distance?

  • The second nurse did not see a control panel or occupants, just the sphere.

  • Therefore?

  • Why do you privilege one witness over the other?

  • I actually don't think the original nurse saw a craft with an entity, but thinks she did.

(There are no ET aliens flying around Earth or human astronauts flying UFOs near hospitals.)

But I do think she believed she saw something, something more than a reflected light. (It would be interesting to see the room where the "observation" occurred.)

It was likely an hallucination brought on by something in the sky, that was moving....but not a reflection on the glass.

If the hallucination was brought on by a reflection, the nurse would need a neurological exam. She has a serious mental condition or brain/optical lesion.

A possibility, but not a probability. (Did anyone follow-up to see what she thought afterwards, long afterwards?)

The light idea, Terry, is facile, glib.
