UFO Conjectures

And now for something NOT completely different...

Spanish UFO researcher and our colleague Jose Antonio Caravaca provides a 1950 flying saucer story that connects with (or seems to) the Scully account in Behind the Flying Saucers:

In  May 1950. in close proximity to General Acha (province of La Pampa), an Italian architect, 44, was traveling in a  deserted region when he encountered an artifact on the ground, about 50 meters from the road.

He entered the device and found 3 little people sitting around an instrument panel. This was his testimony to the press:

"In the center of the cabin, which measured about 3.50 m in diameter, there was a strange seat occupied by a man of 1.20 m 1.40 m tall, dressed in one lead gray suit, his round head, with long light hair, was leaning on his chest.

The hands, well formed and lightly snuff colored rested on two handles (levers) that came from a black box that was a few inches from his body.

His face was the color of his hands. He had a shapely nose with no mustache above the lips and hairless cheeks.

The eyes were large, very dilated and glassy.

Body shapes were perfectly human…He looked like a 15 year old teenager, but with the features of a man. He was a dwarf-like.

I touched his arm which was stiff and the figure was cold.

His suit at the neck was tightly closed and the same on the wrists.

The feet were lightly supported on two tubes attached to the support floor.

The clothing seemed to be made of hard leather and was inflated in the shoulders, giving the pilot the look of a rugby player.

The chair was of a form appropriate to supporting the body and was a red vermilion color, supported by a central shaft.

A black box that the pilot had before him looked like a dashboard, measuring about 1 m high and 0.80 m wide, in which were two 'cat eyes', the kind you see on certain radio equipment.

Below this board and just above the feet was a broad horizontal band with a vertical needle and strange signs that seemed to signify numbers.

To the right of the pilot was a little board with a semi-opaque disk that looked like a television screen turned off "

The next day he returned with some friends to the crash site and found only a heap of ashes and flying above it a cigar-shaped object, which left two small flying saucers.

In December 1958 Coral E. Lorenzen, APRO UFO organization, in an article published in the journal of Ray Palmer's Flying Saucers talked to the witness and was able to reveal his real name: Enrico Carotenuto Bossa.

The first news of this incident was published by the newspaper El Universal, Caracas, Venezuela, Saturday, May 7, 1955. It was case not investigated in Argentina.

It has suspicious similarities with elements in Scully's book, and some drawings are similar to Adamski’s encounters.

A maneuver to create a false incident, similar to Aztec, outside the United States, by the authorities and U.S. intelligence agencies? The witness was an agent of disinformation ....

Ufologist Horacio González Ganteaume wrote in his book Platillos Voladores en Venezuela (1961) that the witness had a fever and his skin was covered in blisters after his encounter with the flying saucer.

He also had greenish spots on the skin which disappeared with the use of a drug.

His face had red marks in the shape of glasses. A doctor examined him with a Geiger counter but did not detect anything abnormal.

The doctors did not know the causes of his illness.

The witness, Enrico Carotenuto Bossa, was a former fighter pilot of Italian Air Force during the Second World War, an architect by profession, and had a doctorate in aeronautical engineering ...

Was he a secret agent of the U.S. government?

One last point.

  • Coral Lorenzen accepts that the entities were ETs and that Dr Bossa was genuine.

Why does JAC think Bossa was an agent of US intelligence? Why has JAC got to throw this piece of 'secret agent' stuff into the story? Totally unnecessary.

A simpler answer is that Bossa made it up, presumably suggested by the early contactee tales and maybe the hairy dwarf stories from Venezuela of 1954. That is why it only appeared in May 1955, 5 years after its alleged occurrence.

But when all is said and done, I don't know the answer any more than JAC or yourself, or Lorenzen.

  • I would have liked more detail on the alleged post event skin conditions, especially if it is true that he tested negative for radiation, as the skin anomalies may have been biologically and internally produced, for example, such as scalded skin syndrome or environmental exposure to copper salts, this aspect of a forensic exam is blithely brushed by. Nothing there. The account is discontinuous, lacks detail as far as attempting to study it.
I have been saying for some time, here and elsewhere, we have not one, but several parallel tracks going on. Either or does not apply to covert intelligence operations or actual atmospheric anomalies being a root cause, etc. Both are side by side. False staged events and actual events are side by side..to the present day and you can look to other non UFO events to confirm that games are being played in terms of disinformation, planting dead ends and straw dogs, like honey to bees. See who shows up and hide behind the bushes and watch. Who suspects what, who suspects whom, add discredit, add ambivalence..muddy the waters. Old hat. This is a strategy no longer required because there are no bees to catch amongst the civilians. Now everything is bought and paid for using a private aerospace contractor working in conjunction with NASA and the FAA, as well as MUFON.Cash and carry. The public brain is so addled and the waters are so muddied, no one can tell left from right. The focus now is the atmosphere game, not the ground game..the Cold War is over.

  • BTW..What did James Carrion tell the MUFON Board of Directors about Skin Walker Ranch? Anyone know?

  • CDA ...
Argentinean ufologist Robert E. Blanchs made an exhaustive investigation of Bossa report verifying that history, in his principal points, could not be corroborated, but had some correct information (insubstantial for the story). Knowing the Bossa profession and his antecedents as a fighter pilot (if this information is correct?), we can conjecture, and only do that in our report, with the possibility that it was a US government agent providing false information about an episode like that of Scully ...

Just aim to provide new lines of research ...
