  • I've already heard these people talk, ad nauseam. As to the presentation itself, mainstream media has a set way of presenting a subject it's not comfortable with, thereby skewing the audience's perception toward what's familiar and safe. This was a "safe" set of interviews. No one need worry about what's being discussed. Life goes on. Tonight's show will likely be more of the same.

As for the subject going mainstream, does it matter? Why have more people asking questions when there's already enough who don't have any answers?

  • Here's the show for those who slept in or missed it:

And Ron, you noticed, I'm sure, correspondent Dave Pogue, who does quirky segments for CBS and smirked most of his way through the airing.

It was a temperate, safe piece. So, let's see how 60 Minutes treats it tonight.

  • Right. The smirk suggesting "this is me, keeping this light. Nothing to fear here." That subtle signalling is part of what they do. That and the opening presentation referring to science fiction and movie aliens; a tried and true mainstream bit. I hate when they do it, and they all do, in video and print, but it's obvious why. It sets the tone for what's to come. Don't know why they even bothered with the interviews after that.

  • I see in a preview clip for tonight's show the female Navy pilot from the Nimitz Tic Tac encounter. She's quoted (elsewhere) as saying she believes it was "of this world," but then fails to explain in simple terms why she thinks that. She's on with David Fravor. Despite the first-hand experience, I expect there will be a lot of "I don't know" thrown around.

It's amazing that this thing continues to defy explanation.

  • There surely must have been other measurements of it, via technologies we are not privy to.

  • I know somebody who saw much longer, higher resolution videos on SIPRNet & he said they were very compelling. IIRC, the videos came from the 2015 east coast incident involving the USS Theodore Roosevelt.
